The area surrounding the Königsplatz formed the centre of power of the Nazi party (NSDAP) including party headquarters, monumental representational buildings and an extensive administrative centre. The tour will lead us through the former "Parteiviertel" (party quarter).

The NS Documentation Centre is located at the historic "Brown House", the former Nazi party headquarters. From the mid-1930s onwards, a large administrative centre with numerous of the party's central and branch offices was formed. The party took possession of more and more premises in the area between Karlstraße and Gabelsbergerstraße. Up to 6,000 people worked here for the NSDAP during the Nazi period. Thus Munich remained the centre of the party's bureaucracy during the entire Nazi dictatorship. The area surrounding the Königsplatz also played a central role as a place where the Nazis celebrated certain days with marches.

The tour will be held in German.
