Every year, Munich’s citizens dispose of 42,000 tonnes of plastic packaging and composite materials such as drink cartons, known as “lightweight packaging”. In Munich alone, there'd be enough to fill up the Bavaria statue at the Theresienwiese once every hour.

Frederic Weihberg from the Waste Management Corporation of Munich ("Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb München", AWM) will give an interactive talk about avoiding, separating and recycling waste and will explain how Munich’s 3-bin-system (residual waste, paper and organic waste) and the recycling points work. The AWM expert will answer any questions on composting, “recycling myths” or the AWM’s attractive and sustainable (online) support.

In an entertaining and informative way, you'll be shown how, in the long run, waste can be avoided and valuable resources spared.

This event is held in cooperation with Abfallwirtschaft München.

The talk will be mostly held in German, but questions in English are welcome.
