If your food was that good that you’d just love to lick your plate clean then there must have been lots of “umami” involved. This savoury taste – one of the 5 basic tastes – is extremely familiar to all of us; but many of us don’t really know how to apply it in the kitchen, especially when cooking without meat. But umami is exactly the secret you need to make sure that everyone enjoys their meal, in particular when it comes to making a Christmas dinner.

 
The umami cookery course with Clarissa Juse will provide the theoretical basic knowledge – what exactly is umami with regard to molecules and how can we use and apply it when cooking? All of us together will be cooking a multi-course umami meal including the perfect vegan gravy (with only 3 ingredients!) and a delicious Christmas roast which has proved itself an amazing Christmas dinner.
 
If possible, please bring along an apron, a chopping board and a knife.
 
The workshop will be held in German, but you are very welcome to join even if you are not fluent!
